Incoterms 2000 to be Revised:  ICC Needs Your Input by March 18

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has decided to revise Incoterms 2000 and is seeking recommendations for change based on corporate feedback. Incoterms are designed to follow trade practice, not establish it.  For this reason, it is vital that they get up-to-date input on how business is actually done, and this can come only from people involved in trade.  Any critique of Incoterms 2000 must be accompanied by a suggested remedy.

Please share this information with your international and domestic colleagues in sales, purchasing, transportation, legal, and credit. This revision is particularly important for Americans because Incoterms will eventually replace the commonly used U.S. "FOB here, there and everywhere" terms which were deleted from the Uniform Commercial Code.  The new Incoterms revision should be structured to make this as easy as possible.

Kindly send your recommendations to Frank Reynolds at fjr424@aol.com , with a copy to cgmartin@uscib.org and susan.cook@louisvilleky.gov , no later than March 18.  Your suggestions will be forwarded to the Incoterms revision committee.
