Keeneland offers 5,709 horses at auction

Keeneland Race Course in Lexington announced Monday that it has cataloged a record 5,709 horses for its annual November Breeding Stock Sale, scheduled for Nov. 3-17.

Catalogs for the November Sale - the largest thoroughbred auction of its kind in the world - have been available online at Keeneland.com since Oct. 1.

Print catalogs will be mailed this week. Sessions begin daily at 10 a.m.

Keeneland will provide live coverage of the entire 15-day sale on its Web site.

The total number cataloged for November 2008 exceeds last year by 294 horses, and includes 2,267 broodmares, 2,893 weanlings, 542 horses of racing age, and seven stallions.
